🧪 Is NCERT Enough for 160+ in NEET Chemistry? Let’s Talk Reality!

Hey champs! đź‘‹
This is Rajeev Sir, your Chemistry Mentor and NEET guide, here to bust a myth that’s been floating around every student group, Telegram channel, and classroom chat.
You’ve probably heard this before:

“Bas NCERT padho, Chemistry mein 160+ aa jaayega!”
(Just study NCERT and you’ll easily score 160+ in NEET Chemistry.)
But is that really true? Let’s dive in.

âť— The Reality Check
Let’s take a recent example—JEE Mains 2025, both sessions.
If you go through the Chemistry questions, you’ll notice something important:
They were concept-based, not just NCERT line-by-line.Topics like:
Chemical Bonding,Coordination Compounds, Aldehydes and Ketones,Chemical Equilibrium
…and more—were not straight from the book. They tested your understanding, logic, and application.
This shift is real. Even NEET Chemistry is evolving.

📉 How Chemistry Has Changed in NEET
Before COVID, and even in NEET 2020, Chemistry was considered the easier section. Most questions were direct and NCERT-based.

But in the last two years, things have changed.

Now:

Questions test depth over memory

There’s a mix of application + concept clarity

You need more than just superficial reading

So, if you’re depending only on NCERT + last-minute revision + rattafication…
👉 You might be in for a surprise on exam day.

âś… So, What Should You Do?
Here’s my personal suggestion to all serious NEET aspirants:

🔹 Read NCERT deeply — don’t just memorize lines, understand them.
🔹 Practice regularly, and don’t shy away from tricky questions.
🔹 Solve JEE Mains Chemistry papers — yes, even if you’re preparing for NEET.
🔹 Focus on weak areas and don’t skip conceptual chapters.
🔹 Stay calm, consistent, and confident.

You don’t need to fear Chemistry. You just need the right approach.

🎯 Final Words from Your Mentor
My job isn’t just to teach you reactions or mechanisms—
It’s to guide you to become a smart, confident, and exam-ready student.

So here’s your game plan:

Be honest with your prep.

Stop looking for shortcuts.

Stay focused and practice smart.
