JEE Main 2020 Admit Card has been released by the National Testing Agency. Candidates can now download their admit card from the official website, JEE Main 2020 exam will be conducted from September 1-6, 2020, from 09:00, am to 12:00 noon in the first shift, and from 03:00 pm to 06:00 pm in the second shift.

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NTA has taken extra measures to ensure candidates’ safety. NTA has introduced a self-declaration form that candidates need to fill while downloading the admit card. In the self-declaration form, candidates will have to provide details of travel history in the last 14 days and their health status, whether they are suffering from cold, fever, and breathing problems. Apart from this, if the candidate came in contact with a corona infected in the past, he/she must inform whether he/she was quarantined or not.

JEE Main admit card includes important instructions for candidates, advisory regarding Covid-19 which candidates have to adhere to the exam hall. NTA has also prescribed a dress code where shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted.

Follow safety guidelines

Students should follow all the instructions provided at the JEE Main exam centers by their invigilators, such as- forming lines, frisking, phased entry, etc.

Maintain social distancing

Students should be careful and follow the social distancing forms. They should keep a proper distance with other students all the time, avoid touching different things, wear face masks and hand gloves, etc.

Parents should avoid gathering at the centres

As parents accompany the students to the examination centres, they are advised either not to come to the centres with their children or avoid staying at the centres. This has been suggested in order to prevent overcrowding.

Safety measures to be taken by NTA

In a live session, NTA Director Vineet Joshi said, ‘Various measures will be taken to ensure safe and smooth conduct of the JEE Main 2020 exam.’ He added that the NTA will be allocating the nearest examination centers to the students as per their registered address. Additionally, NTA will also be following the safety measures prescribed by the health ministry.

Proper sanitization

Every centre will be properly sanitized before the exam to ensure the safety of the students. Students would also be expected to follow the rules at every turn to keep safe.

Phased Entry

The entry of students will be made in a phased manner to avoid grouping of many students at a time. It means students will enter the test centres in different slots. They will also be expected to enter the exam hall one by one while maintaining the prescribed distance.

Social Distancing

It will be ensured that there is a proper distance between the seats of the students to avoid any kind of contact. Also, students will have to wear face masks and gloves during the exam.


A barricading will be set up at the JEE Main exam centers to keep parents and others at a distance from the centers to avoid crowding.

These measures can contribute to the proper and safe conduct of the JEE Main exam on the scheduled dates. But, looking at the present COVID-19 situation and requests from the students, discussions over the further postponement of the exam are ongoing. The final decision, however, will be made by NTA in the coming days.

Candidates will be allowed to carry JEE Main Admit Card, ID Card, Transparent Ball Point Pen, Additional Photographs, Personal Hand Sanitizer, and Transparent Water Bottle.

Keeping in mind the social distancing, according to the Government of India’s guidelines, the gap between the two seats will be kept inside the hall.

The JEE Main Admit Card will be checked through a bar code reader, and frisking will be done through a metal detector to avoid physical contact.

Disabled students must have a disability certificate and bring their scribe. Scribe has to bring self-declaration letters related to educational documents, self-declaration letter related to Covid-19 and valid government ID card.

Parents are advised not to stay at the examination centers during the JEE Main exam.

At the end of the examination, the candidates have to leave their JEE Main 2020 Admit Card and Rough Worksheet in the examination centers’ collection box.

The candidates must keep a distance of at least 6 feet at the campus.

Shoes/footwear with thick sole and garments with large buttons are not permitted.
