Section-wise analysis:
Physics – Overall physics paper was easy to moderate level. Out of 25 questions 20 questions were based on theory and concepts. On simple application there was multiple choices question with single correct answer. Out of total (25) questions 5 questions were numerical type. This paper is much easier than paper of January attempted. All topics have been covered in this paper and overall it was an easy paper.
Chemistry – Chemistry paper was entirely from N.C.E.R.T syllabus. Questions were based on facts with more weightage to inorganic chemistry. There were 25 questions. Inorganic chemistry had major chunk from chemical bonding & coordination compounds. A few questions were from practical chemistry. The question paper was moderate to easy.
Mathematics – This paper was quite easy and similar to January JEE mains. Few questions of conic section and Trigonometry can be solved using Calculus. The questions were relatively less calculative than January attempt. The question was easy to moderate.
Today JEE Main paper 2020 was over for first shift students at 12 noon. This exam was conducted by following JEE Main SOPs at most of the exam centers. Most of the students reported that physics was a difficult section among all three sections. Hindustan Times reported the following JEE Main paper analysis 2020:
- Mathematics (25 questions) – 20 Multiple choice questions and 5 Numerical based questions
- Difficulty level – Easy to moderate
- Questions were asked from Algebra, Co-ordinate Geometry, Calculus and other topics
- Numerical based questions were lengthy
- Physics (25 questions) – 20 Multiple choice questions and 5 Numerical based questions
- Difficulty level – Moderate
- One question from AC Circuits was lengthy
- Numerical based questions were tougher than MCQs
- Chemistry (25 questions) – 20 Multiple choice questions and 5 Numerical based questions
- Difficulty level – Moderate
- Questions were asked uniformly from Inorganic, Physical, and Organic chemistry.
- Numerical Based questions were lengthy
- Some questions were from Electrochemistry chapter
- Some fact-based questions were from NCERT.
